We have seen this in our life (NOT read in books) that about 30-40 years ago, the persons who were entering in Masjid-e-Haram (in Makkah) and Masjid-e-Nabvee (in Madina) with Camera, their camera were BROKEN and informed by so-called Ulma there that taking pictures are HARAM and NOT allowed. Even our elders told us that the Fatwas are there from Imams of Kahba that Laud speakers are Haram!!! Now what is happening? At that these types of so-called ulma were highly against Future-Looking Alams (like Syed Moudoodi) who were saying that these modern technologies are necessary and can be used to spread Islam. So conclusion is that without current knowledge, it is not easy to do Dhawa of Islam.
